Dartek® (Nylon 6/6) is used to wrap fine art, acts as a transparent dust cover and can provide a covering membrane for lining paintings on a vacuum hot table. It is produced in a variety of grades and thicknesses. The .0075" (3/4 mil) thickness is available in C-101 and C-917 versions. Both provide outstanding gas and oil barrier protection, excellent clarity, abrasion resistance and tensile strength. We offer only C-197 because it includes a heat-stabilizing ingredient and allows prolonged high temperature applications. Dartek has no surface coatings or plasticizers and is softer and conforms more easily than Mylar. It absorbs up to 10% of its weight in moisture. It adheres well with hot melt tape and to itself with a heated spatula.
